So even if we pretend the $129/64 GB version doesn't exist it is still a $30 saving MSRP Vs. Instead of making a compelling use-case for additional storage or some other selling point, they take stuff away. Nobody would buy the 128 GB model if not for the Ethernet Jack/Thread removal thing, Apple knows this. You cannot store your own media on it, and gaming is very niche/bad.

PS - In my opinion additional storage on an Apple TV 4K has no strong purpose. Is that worth it for the things you'll lose? What will you use the extra 32 GB of storage for? Only you can decide. You may want to ask yourself though, if for your specific needs, the 2021 32 GB Apple TV 4K at its clearance $110 price could make more sense.

2021, and you get more base storage + WiFi 6/USB C charging remote/CPU update for that money. So even if we pretend the 2022 Apple TV 4K 64 GB / $129 version doesn't exist it is still a $30 saving minimum MSRP Vs. I was initially irritated by the removal of the Ethernet Jack on the 64 GB version, but once I looked at last year's prices, the 128 GB + Ethernet is still a price reduction. I know there are rumors of a new shield so maybe I should wait but idk haha I just got an S95B last month so this would be great to update then. The Apple TV is my favorite streaming box even though I have all android/windows devices mainly because it has twitch and basically no ads throughout the device.

Shame on Apple for not supporting it years ago. Here's an official Apple thread being more specific: le.com/thread/253882150įor reference, HDR10+ is used heavily on Prime Video and other services too, and has been around for like 5 years. The device itself still doesn't support it though. This means the app itself supports the ability to stream HDR10+ content - in other words they added HDR10+ content to their servers, and the app downloads it. "HDR10+ support: The latest generation of high dynamic range technology is now supported in the Apple TV app on tvOS 16." Pay close attention in the link you provided to the wording (which is admittedly a total disaster): HDR10+ was one of the main features they touted with today's announcement. Nope, previous models only support HDR10, not HDR10+. I think HDR10+ came as an update to the previous 4K models? Did it not?
